It’s that time again! It’s the middle of the week, the proverbial “hump” day, and we need a little juice to keep going. It’s always good to have goals, something you are working towards, something you look forward too. For me travel is that thing. Even if it is out of my reach (financially or otherwise) at the moment, there’s nothing like a little travel porn to keep me motivated and dreaming the dream. Today I bring you Hotel 7132 in Switzerland’s small mountain village of Vals. In homage to the simple beauty of this small town, population 1000, the hotel is named for its postal code. I first learned of this hotel from Mañana travel website, an amazing site dedicated to conscious travel and highlighting eco-friendly hotels that use fair labor practices and give back to their communities. Wanderlust Wednesday: Casa Cook

Mid-summer nights are upon us and my wanderlust is in full swing. Casa Cook is in Rhodes, Greece. It is the largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands on the Aegean’s eastern edge. Rhodes has traditional Greek architecture and beautiful cobblestone streets. It is considered the sunniest corner of Greece and has a longer summer than other parts of Greece so the tourist season lasts well into November. I had the great joy of going to Greece when I was a kid, and remember being mesmerized by the bright whitewashed plaster buildings against the blue sky and sea, and I have wanted to get back there ever since. While travel isn’t an option this summer, a girl can still dream. When I came across Casa Cook I knew I had one more place to add to my travel bucket list. Casa Cook is a boutique hotel nestled against the Kolymbia hillside. Check out this gorgeous hotel, and tell me it doesn’t make you want to hop a plane to Greece ASAP. Wanderlust Wednesday: Misool Eco Resort

It’s humpday y’all and I’m in need of some mid-week inspiration to keep me going strong. I have been getting the travel bug in a big way lately. I haven’t done any traveling since I was eight months pregnant, and even then it was just a road trip (albeit a spectacular one to Big Sur). I’m craving a real deal exotic adventure. I want to bask in the sun, float in crystal waters, and stuff my face with tropical fruits. Alas, that kind of gorgeous travel is not in my budget right now. So I will just dream about it and plan for a future trip down the line. I also want to really highlight eco-resorts and hotels that are acting sustainably and working to protect the environment. I thought I would share what I found here because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little travel porn? Getaway: San Ysidro Ranch, a baby friendly weekend

This is my first wanderlust post. Seeing as I’m the mom of a one year old, I haven’t been doing a lot of wandering lately. So for my birthday I wanted to go away somewhere. My husband (DP) and I hadn’t taken a trip in quite a while. We wanted to take Little Plum with us, since we weren’t ready to be away from her. We also wanted to stay close to home just in case the world imploded when we strayed from our comfort zone and LP’s usual routine. However I also wanted to feel like I was far away on vacation. Since we live in Los Angeles, we opted to go to The San Ysidro Ranch in the Montecito Foothills. It has all the amenities of a luxurious getaway, and it’s only a quick ninety minute drive! Well, full disclosure, by the time we got everything in the car, dropped our dog’s at my parents house, ran back home because we forgot an important item, stopped for snacks and wipes, where we realized we had no gas so another quick stop, only to finally get on the road where LP started screaming because it was time for her to breastfeed […]
